Speak Out
An interactive English learning programme for children who have limited or no proficiency in the language
Why
- To teach English and equip under-privileged children with the skills to communicate, learn and progress in an increasingly globalised society.
- To make the transition from school education in vernacular languages to higher education in English easier and smoother thereby enabling continued education and a better future.
How
Speak Out follows teaching methodologies and syllabus by AID India, Cambridge University, Make A Difference, Vidyarambam etc. Baseline assessment tests are held to assess the current levels of English. The textbooks and workbooks with ample exercises give the children an opportunity to inculcate an interest to learn the language. While Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) accredited professionals provide the basic training to all our volunteers, experienced volunteers with an aptitude to teach mentor their peers during the course of the year.
